​​I lived in Italy for 5 enriching years, beginning my journey in the sun-kissed land of Sicily, where I taught English to bright-eyed children and eager teenagers in state schools. This experience was not only rewarding but also deeply transformative, allowing me to immerse myself in a vibrant culture filled with history and warmth. After a memorable Christmas visit to Florence with my mum, where we marveled at the stunning architecture and festive atmosphere, I felt an undeniable connection to this captivating city. This led me to relocate there after spending two wonderful years in Palermo, where I had already fallen in love with the Italian way of life. In Florence, I resided in a beautifully renovated farmhouse, its rustic charm enhanced by the surrounding olive groves. From every window in my home, the majestic Duomo rose gracefully against the skyline, a constant reminder of the city's rich artistic heritage. I dedicated many hours to exploring the enchanting streets of Florence with my two beloved dogs, discovering hidden piazzas, vibrant markets, and breathtaking art that filled the air with a sense of magic—each stroll felt like a step back through time. Florence, a city where individuality and creativity shine, inspired me to express my passion through writing. They say everyone has a book within them, and my love for Florence compelled me to pen my own story. Originally published as "When Angels Fall" in 2012, "For the Love of God" has been reimagined as a reprint featuring a new title, a refreshed cover, and an enhanced narrative that captures the essence of my experiences. Earlier this year (2025), I returned to Florence, relishing the opportunity to revisit its most beloved sights, from the iconic Ponte Vecchio to the Duomo, the museums and the serene Boboli Gardens.
